While we typically think of something like childhood obesity as a medical condition, we can use our sociological imagination to further analyze this issue. Remember from Unit 1 that Mills (2013) made a distinction between personal troubles and public issues. We can use our sociological imagination to look at obesity as a public issue–one that has social and cultural causes.
