change the oil in a car for someone who has never done this. You will use
graphics, definitions and detailed step by step procedures to explain the
process.

This is a description of a minimally technical
process.

3)Be careful to logically separate material
instead of, for example, mixing instructions to perform steps of the process
with advice about why to perform the process.

Begin at the beginning by recognizing your
audience. Begin with an introduction in which you explain why the reader might
want to perform the process. Follow with a list/description of tools and
products necessary. Write complete sentences, not fragments that half-express
the step in the process.
